Township Landfill:
The Town of Almena operates a landfill in conjunction with the Village of Turtle Lake. This site is located about 5 miles north of Turtle Lake on Highway 63. Only residents of the Town of Almena or the Village of Turtle Lake can use this site. Town property owners must call Gary Krecker, town employee, at 715-357-6016 to set up a time to access the site. Gary will open the site and residents are required to lock up after they unload their “Solid Waste”. Solid Waste is defined to include clean soil, brick building stone, unpainted and untreated concrete, reinforced concrete, broken pavement, unpainted and untreated wood as well as organic waste limited to leaves, brush, tree stumps and cuttings. Township Cleanup Day:
The 2022 cleanup day is tentatively scheduled for Saturday May 7th from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
